Benoue National Park
Located in the Adamawa Region of Cameroon, the Benoue National Park is a designated UNESCO biosphere reserve of 180,000 hectares (440,000 acres).
Fauna: This Park is very rich in Fauna and the only reserve in Africa where you stand a realistic chance of seeing the Giant Eland (Africa’s largest antelope).
Other animals in the park includes African elephants, lions, spotted hyena, waterbuck, warthogs, monkeys and giraffes. The river Benoue in the park is known for its popular hippopotamus and crocodile colony.
The park boasts of over 300 species of birds with most common being the Adana turtledove, plover, crocodile bird, red-throated-bee-eater, violet turaco, stone partridge, red-winged grey warbler.
